Can I add fishing rod holders on my kayak?

Yes. Rod holders are factory installed on all of our “angler” models, but they can be installed on any of our kayaks (Sit-On-Tops & Sit Ins). They can be placed anywhere on the top deck that there is a flat area. Generally, the flush mount rod holders are installed right behind the seat and the Scotty® deck mount rod holder is installed towards the front of the cockpit area. You can find both under our “Essentials Tab”.

Be sure to install rod holders in a location were they will not interfere with your paddle stroke. Both types of rod holder require you to drill holes in you kayak. If you have the appropriate size hole saw and a pop rivet tool or if you can access the area and use stainless self-locking nuts and bolts, it is pretty straightforward. If you do not feel comfortable putting holes in your new kayak, contact your local Emotion Kayaks dealer. Use our “Dealer Tab” to find a dealer near you.
